About the project

ReproZip-Web builds on the capture and client-side replay tools of Webrecorder to capture the front-end of a website, and the reproducibility software ReproZip to encapsulate the backend dynamic web server software and its dependencies. The output is a self-contained, isolated, and preservation-ready bundle, an .rpz file, with all the information needed to replay a website. The .rpz file includes the source code, the computational environment, the operating system, software libraries, any files used by the app (for example, the data and static files), and a front-end capture of the site as an embedded .wacz file. Its lightweight nature makes it ideal for distribution and preservation.
